ABC, CBA That's the Way We Like to Play...and Enjoy the 55th Anniversary Concert of Folk-Legacy Records Oct 1st,2016

on Thu, 09/22/2016 - 03:32

I will listen to an online recording from www.catv6.com of the Region One ABC (All Boards Committee) in Falls Village CT, but will share a poem first...feel free to complete. ABC, CBA that's the way we like to play. DEF, FED Once we're fed we're happy as can be. GHI, IHG, G says Hi and Hi to G.... see more on www.livfully.orgwhen I get a minute this week (and find the rest I made up for a new kid on the block whose name starts like the alphabet with A (no suspense, now, Adaline).

All the best to keeping the school doors open wide and free... I'll put some poems and song lyrics from over the years on the blog too. Meanwhile, the 55th Anniversary Concert of Folk-Legacy Records will be in W Hartford October 1st, at 7:30 pm on Fern St at the UU Church.

More info on their site (Folk-Legacy or The Sounding Board hosting group). Let's celebrate the many wonderful singers and musicians on their label (out of Sharon CT, with kudos to Caroline and the late Sandy Paton and Co-founder the late Lee Haggerty).

The concert should be a true delight and raise the bar for those wanting to sing in a group...to sing out with clear voices, lively lyrics, foot-tapping or moving tunes and all night long though the concert will consist of about a dozen singers each doing a song, then another in the second half.

Tickets are $25 and likely will inspire some downloads of favorites from the iTunes. Most songs are on youtube for free or have samples on the Folk-Legacy Website.

Some other footage of the 50th concert, from long ago and about the company is online. Get to know your neighbors by the music they make starting with Sharon's Folk Legacy! Keep our loved ones here and in heaven in mind too.

Music and songs can be a healing balm for the heart and allow more inspiration to come alongside the challenging times we face whether 'alone' or with a few others or in larger numbers. "We shall overcome, we shall overcome..." and "Let your songs come dancing, welcome them one and all" (from my Bright Tomorrows song which I will also post on www.livfully.org in memory or Kaelan who loved to fly kites, and enjoy picnics as a kid and was going to go to a birthday one that evening when journeyed out of this world...)

Caroline is a great grandmother to one and they were grandparents to six including the late Kaelan Paton they made lots of good memories and enriched many decades of kids' lives with concerts and efforts to make their community a friendlier place.
