President Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr giving His First Speech: Touting Cause of Democracy

on Wed, 01/20/2021 - 17:15

For those who may not have a way to view the Inauguration, Joe Biden is now President and mentioned he honors Jimmy Carter who couldn't attend in the fist part of a half hour talk he is giving. The National Anthem was sung by Lady Gaga (in a poofy hooped red ballroom type dress, her fashion choice. Jennifer Lopez sang This Land is Your Land...)

The pledge was said. I did some creative dance during these first parts...hoping to send out more healing 'meeting of minds and hearts' energy. Joe Biden is speaking about Unity. He is touching base with LIncoln's 1863 declaration that his soul is in the effort to unite the nation. Joe is asking that he be joined by all in fighting injustice, hopelessness and inequalities.

He is speaking about securing healthcare for all, racial justice and making America a meaningful world leader. He says he knows these troubles have been part of a legacy of struggle.

The reality of the gap between wants and crimes allowing for corruption have been rampant. So it's an ongoing course each person and nation can be reformed to care about one another. Without unity, Joe says, there is no peace, only chaos.... This is a summary of what he's saying (not quoting verbatim..)

Meet this moment as the "united' states of America (which I call the US of A-Miracle.) He says politics does not have to be a raging path with each problem a cause for war and separation. He's sharing the message that we see and care about one another and create middle ground for peace. We can endure and prevail, with the history of Martin Luther King, Jr giving inspiration to millions as did people seeking the rights for many causes of equality.

Big applause was also given to the election of Kamala Harris breaking boundaries for women and people of color again by holding the Vice Presidency. Biden says he will be a President for All Americans. fighing hard for all who voted for him as well as for those who did not vote for him. He quotes St. Augustine as people sharing values as defining them. He is exploring the idea that the truth is key and valued but that it can be up for sale resulting in lies and corruption.

Many worries and fears are being expressed, Joe is covering. The answer he says is not to turn inward and distrust others who are 'different'. He asks that we end the the civil war that pits Red against Blue, rural against urban and many other dividers. As his Mom, it's worth 'standing in one another's  shoes.' We are called to lend a hand at times and give help at others. That's life... and can help us all succeed.

Joe is wrapping up his speech with positive hope and a shared story to 'meet the moment' to keep truth and justice up and running.

Thanks to all tuning in and doing their part with all in their care and connections...
