Powerful HoUSAtonic Connections--MA/NY CT (many connect for US-All)

on Tue, 06/10/2014 - 21:37

While 9-11 brought the United States of A Miracle into a new sense of connection with the other states in the country, sharing not only the national loss but ties to neighboring states where families of the victims lived and felt the impact of the difficulty on many levels of a national tragedy. Some called the loss that was linked to a questionable war with Iraq a set-up or at least a confusing assault not only on the families but our country, whether from foreigners or 'some of our own for reasons we have yet to comprehend'.  We need to be willing to ask questions and explore what led to the devastation long before it occurred and stay vigilant in 'what unfolded in the aftermath of 9-11-01.

Why mention 9-11 in light of the HoUSAtonic River which spans a few states in the Northeast of the country, from Massachusetts to Connecticut, empting into Long Island Sound near about a half-hour from Bridgeport, and is very close to the NY border at parts? For the small towns of the Massachusetts (MA), New York (NY) and Connecticut (CT) tri-state corner area, on June 16th, 2009, we had our own 'mini 9-11' emergency assault, not from planes in the sky but from a raging river which unfortunately teens were left on their own to go explore 'as country kids are apt to do', but hopefully will not be given such free reign in the future by parents or adults across the country to 'just be careful' and 'try to grow up responsibly with patterns or even occassional adventures which involve deadly forces of water, height, heat or cold, with parents either not informed or others giving permission implicitly or explicitly to 'go for it' or only to 'use your own judgment'.

What happened to a group of Huckleberry Finn type tees looking have a memorable llast day  of school turned into a nightmare, leaving Kaelan Alexander Palmer Paton, our 16 year old son facing sudden challenges and what turned out to be the last moments of his life around 3pm on Jun 16th,2009. Take time 5 years later to reflect on ways to honor the lives of people in your life and community. Practice good self-care and teamwork in caring for others and respecting others when driving sober, awake, without distraction and with plans for  living and learning and even loving or 'going separate ways' with mutual respect and guidance to be fair to all involved when possible.

Connect with the gifts of nature and the wider world, earth and sky. One gentle giant houses all so let US-All be nice and ready to share and ask for help...and call 9-1-1 if there is an emergency. Sites like www.211.org can help people in every state too, so take time and know there is support for you. Our son's love for life and to help others --saving two before going in to try to save a friend who was rescued moments later could help everyone keep their cool, put others first and have a support team as well as Voluntary Parenting Plans and Coaches to keep families on track...or  help them get back  on track after difficulty or loss.   Take time on June 14th to remember loved ones   and on  June 16th to be with family and friends. making your care for each other real and set some safety guidelines with  your school and town to prevent loss, danger or high needs. Peace and love, hugs from our family to yours....

Donations to any non-profit in memory of loved ones and Kaelan are appreciated...let me know if you can. Also donations of any amount to the Falls Village or Sharon Congregational Church, The FV Daycare or Fire Dept in CT will  help me show our thanks. You are welcome to send names (first or full) for me to remember as well to thinkingkapp@gmail.com when we gather on the FV side of the Power Plant and cast flowers on the water on Sat June 14,2014 at 3pm and at the FV Congregational Church from 2 to 6 pm on  Mon,June 16th,2014. If ideas grow to have a community semi-annual time of remembrance of shared loss we can turn that into shared strength...peace and healing light and love to all....as so many wise souls have encouraged us such as Jesus and more recently www.drsha.com
